The Body Shop Oils of Life – Intensely Revitalizing Facial Oil Review

Read to find if this expensive skincare product is worth it.

I have alligator skin! That is the best way I can describe my skin texture. My skin can get as dry as the Atacama, with no amount of rainfall helping it. I have struggled with dry skin all my life, pouring all sorts of serums and oils over it just to make it glow…for once! But no, I have been failing since forever. With my never ending dilemma, Body shop came in with the Oils of life range. I was mostly like, yeah another oil with a long list of claims, as if it will work on my skin..huh! But then I had to try it as well, because pessimism aint taking care of our skins, we gotta slap everything in the market until we reach there. Did this work for my skin? Read on to find out!

What company says: Infused with three precious seed oils and a blend of seven essential oils, we’ve created the Oils of Life™ Intensely Revitalizing Facial Oil. The lightweight and quickly absorbing texture leaves a non-sticky finish, melting onto the skin, leaving it silky and soft. Instantly, skin appears smoother, more radiant, revived, revitalized and nourished. After 4 weeks, the signs of aging appear reduced, wrinkles appear minimized, and skin feels more elastic and firm.

Price for Qty.: Rs. 3095 for 30 ml (that is EXPENSIVE!)

Product & Texture: It’s a facial oil, made to be absorbed quickly into the skin without leaving any oily film on top.

What I have to say: With expensive oils being the “it” thing in skincare these days, Body shop is not staying behind. They came up with this range, and sure came in with a bang. I cannot LOVE them enough to have created this product. I am OBSESSED! This oil, has changed everything on my skin. With my ageing concerns taking a rise along with my never ending dry skin issues, this oil proved to be “do boond jindagi ki” (two drops of life) for my skin. I am hooked from day one. Let’s start with the feel of the oil. It is not a sticky kind of oil, it is very light weight and absorbs real quick into the skin. It is a clear oil and comes in a glass dropper bottle. Not a fan of packaging, its not travel friendly in my opinion. I started off by using it in my night time skin regime. I would mix it with my night cream and spread it all over my skin. It makes the cream more massage-able?! So I kinda give a miny massage to my face every night. It REALLY hydrates my skin. You need only 2 drops for one use, and with that much usage, this bottle is not going anywhere for atleast 4-5 months. As you can see in the pics, I have been using it well over 6 weeks, and it’s still pretty much new.

It leaves a glowy look on my skin. It keeps my skin soft and moist all day long, and that is something. I lately started using one drop of the oil in my daytime moisturizer as well, because I just can’t get enough of it. I could see my skin looking plump every morning when I wake up, the pigmentation on my skin has also reduced, not hugely, but I can notice the difference. Given it hydrates my skin so well, I don’t get the bumpy texture around my cheekbones anymore. It can be used on its own as a serum as well, you can apply it before applying your moisturizer, but I prefer mixing it with the cream. That is just how you would prefer to use it. I ran out of my eye cream lately, so I have also been using it around my eyes for last 2 weeks as well, and I feel it works as good as my eye cream did. My concealer sits better in my under eye area now, and I am glad about it. It smells a little nutty, but nothing too strong. I am not too sure how will it fare for oily skins, but I think it’s a boon for normal to dry skin. I sometimes mix it with my foundation to get that extra glow, and it doesn’t mess with the longevity of my makeup, rather my skin looks much more natural.

I highly highly recommend this oil to all the dry skin beauties out there. I agree that it is expensive, but the amount of time it will last you, the price is justified. You can buy it from body shop online, nykaa or from the body shop stores all over India.

Summing up the Pros and Cons.
